At Paramount Plates, we strictly follow legal requirements to ensure your number plate order is secure, verified, and fully DVLA-compliant. Knowing which documents to submit — and how to provide them — ensures your order is processed without delay.

Note: The ID document you submit does not need to match the name on the entitlement document. This allows number plates to be purchased as gifts — for example, you can provide your own ID while the entitlement is in someone else's name.

Some documents can be submitted by email in their original digital format (PDF):

Proof of Address (dated within the last 6 months):

• Utility (Gas, Electric, Water) bill
  
• Telephone or Internet bill
  
• Bank statement
  

Proof of Entitlement:

• eV948 electronic number plate authorisation certificate
  
• Letter of authorisation from a fleet, lease, or hire company quoting the document reference number from the registration certificate
  
• PDF from the V5C on-demand (suppression) vehicle record system

All other documents must be posted to us as original physical copies.
Any business not requiring physical originals for these documents is not following legal DVLA guidelines.

Simply post your documents to us after placing your order. We’ll guide you through the process and return everything securely via Royal Mail Tracked delivery.

• Certificate of entitlement (V750 or V750NI)
  
• Retention document (V778)
  
• Vehicle tax or SORN renewal reminder (V11 or V11NI)
  
• Temporary registration certificate (V379 or V379NI)
  
• Number plate authorisation certificate with DVLA or DVSA stamp (V948)
